SAP selected as the technology partner to provide the necessary best practices framework and platform to support the organisation’s strategic business transformation.
Tuesday, December 16, 2008: Global Healthcare Pvt Ltd (Medicity), a medical venture launched by cardiac surgeon Dr Naresh Trehan, has selected SAP ERP ECC 6.0 application as the standard technology platform to achieve holistic healthcare and medical expertise in India.
Medicity early on, recognised technology as a vital differentiator in achieving its clinical and business objectives through integration and optimisation of its back office operations. SAP was selected as the technology partner to provide the necessary best practices framework and platform to support the organisation’s strategic business transformation.
With an investment of $350-million spread over 43 acres in Gurgaon, Medicity plans to integrate 20 super specialties and alternative medicine therapies like cardiology, neurosciences, oncology, and high-end orthopedics amongst others. As the project continues to expand its infrastructure to include its super specialty facilities, research laboratories, education, residential facilities and attendant accommodation facilities, SAP-driven technology will be integral in providing a common information platform. With SAP deployment, Medicity will be able to harmonise operational processes for optimised performance and management. SAP implementation for Medicity at Gurgaon is a Greenfield project.
“The new global centre will help integrate and explore pioneering frontiers in the field of medicine and healthcare. We believe technology will play a critical role in helping us achieve our clinical and business objectives," said Dr Naresh Trehan, chairman and managing director, Global Healthcare Pvt Ltd.
Rajesh Batra, CIO, Global Healthcare Pvt Ltd, further added, “After a careful evaluation of the choices available, SAP emerged as the best option for being an IT partner, as we shared common goals of providing service excellence to customers and patients."
Supported by the SAP NetWeaver technology platform, SAP for Healthcare will help Medicity anticipate, rapidly adapt and cope with fast evolving business needs and patient services. In addition, SAP for Healthcare can enable operational excellence for Medicity to support patient loyalty by providing real-time business visibility, the company said.
“We understand the inherent challenges of the constantly changing Indian healthcare sector. SAP aims to provide seamless clinical processes, patient services and back-office operations to the Healthcare market," said Ranjan Das, president and CEO, SAP, Indian subcontinent. “I look forward to this collaboration and wish Dr Trehan and his team the best to steer Medicity into the next level of patient care management in India." |
